Add, Edit, or Delete a Route Assignment from the Customer Profile (Web)

To learn how to add, edit, or delete a route assignment from the customer profile using Skimmer's website, see the video below. Or, if you prefer, scroll past the video to view our step-by-step text instructions.

Step-by-step instructions . . .

1
Skimmer gives you several ways to manage your route assignments. You can create whole routes at a time with the Route Builder, manage full tech schedules with the Route Assignments screen, or monitor and manage live routes with the Route Dashboard. But what if you just want to focus and make a change for one particular customer? Skimmer makes that easy, too.
Starting on the Customers tab, find your customer. Click their name or the Edit button and you’ll be taken to their profile. Scroll down a bit and you’ll see a box labeled Route Assignments.

2
First, we’ll add a new route assignment. Click the Add button and the Add Route Assignment box will appear. From here you can easily choose the assigned tech, the day you’d like the customer to be serviced, the frequency – which defaults weekly, and the start date. If this route assignment will only last for a limited time, you can also choose the Stop After date, and after that service date this route assignment will end and not appear on the tech’s schedule anymore. Also, if you’re aware of any weeks the customer will want you to skip service, you can add skip weeks. Once you have the settings you want, click Save. Now the box is populated with a route assignment, and the next time your assigned tech syncs their device, this new assignment will appear on their schedule.

3
What if you already have a route assignment but need to make some changes? On the right side, click the Edit button, and the Edit Route Assignment box will appear. Now you can change any parameters that you previously chose for this route assignment, including the assigned tech and service day, and you can add Stop After or Skip Weeks if you want. The only thing you can’t change here is the frequency, but you CAN change that by going to Routes and then the Route Assignments screen. Once you’ve made your changes, click Save. It’s as simple as that.

4
What if you realize you don’t need this route assignment at all? Just click the little trash can icon to the right, and confirm by clicking Delete. Note that this deletion cannot be undone. A deleted route assignment cannot be retrieved. So if you decide you need that route assignment after all, you’ll need to create a new one.
