Record Chemical Readings and Dosages for a Work Order (App)

To learn how to add chemical readings and dosages to a work order in the Skimmer app, see the video below. Or, if you prefer, scroll past the video to view our step-by-step text instructions.

Step-by-step instructions . . .

1
In addition to reporting the overall work you completed for a work order, you can also record chemical readings and dosages if necessary. This can be done with all work order types. Here’s how to do it. We’re starting our day with a work order, so we’ll tap into it and begin on the Work Order tab.
2
Here we’ll record whatever details we want to note about the job, add any items we may have sold to the customer, and take service photos.

3

So, where do we add the chemical information? That gets its own screen. Note the Pool tab at the top, and tap on it. This will take you to a screen resembling a portion of what you would see on a weekly route stop, except it’s limited to Recent Activity, Readings, and Dosages. Scroll through the choices and select your values just like you would with a route stop. For demonstration, we’ll choose numbers at random.

Also, you’re not limited to just a single tab. If the service location you created this work order for has more than one body of water, such as a pool and a spa, each body of water will get its own chemical tab in the work order. You don’t have to use it, of course, but it’s there if you need it.

4
When the job is done, tap Finish. All the information you entered will be saved to your customer’s service record in the cloud. Also, if you choose to send a service email, in addition to the photos and work information, your customer will receive the chemical readings and dosages associated with this work order. The exception would be if you’ve selected service email settings that omit chemical information from service emails, in which case they would still be recorded but not sent in the customer email.
