Decrease pH

This calculator does not recognize when you are adjusting both pH and alkalinity at the same time. It only knows the difference between current and desired levels. If you adjust both, you will see two chemical doses.

• If you are raising both pH and alkalinity, only raise alkalinity.
• If you are raising pH and lowering alkalinity, only lower alkalinity. The pH will naturally rise on its own.
• If you are lowering pH and raising alkalinity, lower the pH with diluted acid before adding sodium bicarb to raise alkalinity.
• If you are lowering both pH and alkalinity, only lower alkalinity. The pH will also be lowered.
