Cal hypo increases the Calcium Hardness (CH) level in the water. The ppm value displayed here is how much calcium this prescribed dose of cal hypo will leave behind, based on your entered pool volume. Keep in mind that CH impacts the LSI of the water, so be mindful of it. The only practical ways to reduce CH are to either dilute water, or use reverse osmosis (R.O.) filtration.
