Auto Invoicing by Customer Date - FAQ

Can I have some customers on the default day and others on a custom day?

Yes. Customers without a custom auto invoice day continue to bill on your company's default auto invoice day. Customers with a custom auto invoice day bill on that day instead.

What happens if I set the day to the 31st?

Use the  Last day of month option instead.  This option handles months that don't have a 31st (February, April, June, September, November) automatically.

What if a customer has no work to bill on their day?

Nothing happens, they're skipped. The next time they have billable work, it will be picked up on their next scheduled day.

Will this create duplicate invoices?

No. Skimmer tracks the last billing period for each customer and only invoices items that haven't been invoiced yet.

Can I change the day later?

Yes. Update the customer's Auto Invoice Day at any time and the next run will follow the new schedule.

Skimmer does recommend that you avoid changing a customer's invoice date multiple times in a single month.  The customer won't be double billed but it is possible that some charges will not be invoiced.
