Log in to Skimmer (Web)
Use your Skimmer username and password to log in on the web or in the mobile app. Skimmer adds extra protection to keep your business, customer details, and payments safe, and most of the time you log in just like you always have.
Tips & tricks
- Review user email addresses. Skimmer sends verification codes to the email associated with each Skimmer login, so review your team's logins to make sure they are up to date and everyone can access their verification codes. Owners and admins can check and update team member emails in user settings. See the Add, Edit, or Deactivate a User Help article for more information.
- Use a strong password. Skimmer asks you to set a new password right away if your current one shows up in a known password breach or doesn't meet Skimmer's requirements: uppercase and lowercase letters, a number, a symbol, and no use of your username.
Log in on the web
- Go to the Skimmer log-in page.
Enter your username and password.
- Click the Log In button.
If Skimmer doesn't need to confirm anything, you're in. If Skimmer asks for a code, skip to the Enter a login code section below.
Enter a login code (web only)
Skimmer's login process checks for log-ins that seem unusual. When it sees one, Skimmer asks for a short verification code to confirm it's you. You see this code request when you log in:
- On a new device or browser.
- From a new internet connection, such as a different network than usual.
- From a new location, far from where you normally are.
- After a long time away from Skimmer.
On your everyday office computer, you rarely see it.
To enter a verification code:
- Log in with your username and password. A page appears asking for a code.
- Open your email and find the message with the subject Your login code. If you don't see it, check your spam folder.
- Type the code into the Enter your verification or recovery code field.
- (Optional) Select Trust this computer for 30 days so Skimmer doesn't ask again on that computer for 30 days.
- Click the Verify button.
Locked out of your account?
After 10 failed web or mobile log-in attempts within one hour, Skimmer locks the account to protect it. Reset your password to unlock it right away.
New Skimmer login emails
If you log in to Skimmer from a new device, Skimmer also sends you an email notification to verify it's you. Check this email to make sure the device, location, and IP match your current session. If they don't, use the reset your password link to change your password in case someone else is logged into your account.
Password change emails
Skimmer also gives you a heads up when someone changes your Skimmer password. If you changed the password, no action is needed. If you didn't, click the reset your password link to change your password so you can get into your account.
